This presentation is an overview of my research during the 2019 Summer Scholars program. My goal is to provide a few examples of the failure to conflate church and state throughout history while also giving theological insight from the Bible. Ultimately, my goal is to put forth a strong argument for the separation of church and state that can be accepted and supported by Christians.
