Cleveland County Historical Collection

Deeds and Land Records of Cleveland County

This collection of 19th-century deeds from Cleveland County, North Carolina, offers a fascinating glimpse into land ownership and transfer within the county. Each deed details transactions between grantors (the sellers or donors of property) and grantees (the buyers or recipients). These documents illuminate the legal frameworks and personal relationships that shaped the region. Scholars and genealogists can explore property boundaries, familial connections, and economic conditions of the time. The collection serves as a vital resource for understanding the social and historical landscape of Cleveland County.

This collection is part of the Cleveland County Historical Collection under ownership of Cleveland County and managed by the Earl Scruggs Center. Contact the Earl Scruggs Center at info@earlscruggscenter.org or 704-487-6233 for questions regarding the collection.
