The Green Scribe

 

The Green Scribe, 1967, was the first literary journal created at Gardner-Webb College. Published by English 102 students in conjunction with the Department of English to highlight student work.Based on notations from the first issue on One Little Candle, it is believed that there are subsequent publications of The Green Scribe Additional issues of this publication are not held by University Archives.

In 1969 The Green Scribe was re-branded as One Little Candle.

    Thirlen Osborne

    The Green Scribe is the first journal produced by the Gardner-Webb College English Department. It features a compilation of work from freshmen students from English 102 classes, with Thirlen Osborne acting as the English Department Head. The cover art was designed by sophomore art student Jeff Brooks.
