Description
Original copy of the Federal Census of 1850 of Cleveland County, Schedule 3 - Mortality Tables. The mortality schedule enumerats individuals who died in the previous year. This copy of the Federal Census contains a lengthy annotation by Dr. James W. Cabaniss (census enumerator) regarding the overall state of health and disease in Cleveland County that was not included on the copy held and microfilmed in the National Archives.
This copy of the Federal Census states that Willis Davis (page 230) died "sudden" the copy microfilmed by the National Archive which is accessible on Ancestry.com contains an additional notation of "sudden accident - was killed by fall of a tree."
This document was found in the Cleveland County Courthouse with other country records in 1937 and is the sole property of Cleveland County under North Carolina State Law.
