Abstract
This project aimed to equip Hispanic/Latino congregations of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of North Carolina (CBFNC) as a healing community to help people in recovering from loss and trauma in a healthy way. Participants in five-workshop sessions over four weeks explored stories of grief and trauma from the Old and New Testament along with contemporary grief and trauma theories. Each workshop presented what the Scriptures and mental health best practices teach about how to deal with grief and trauma. Also, the project sought to determine whether the participant’s training experience impacted their stress level.

Este proyecto tuvo como objetivo equipar a las congregaciones Hispanas/Latinas del Compañerismo Bautista Cooperativo de Carolina del Norte (CBFNC) como una comunidad sanadora que ayude a las personas a recuperarse de las pérdidas y traumas de forma saludable. Durante cuatro semanas, los participantes exploraron en cinco talleres historias del Antiguo y Nuevo Testamento junto con las teorías contemporáneas del duelo y el trauma. Cada taller presentó las Escrituras y las mejores prácticas de salud mental que enseñan cómo lidiar con el duelo y el trauma. Además, el proyecto buscó determinar si la experiencia de aprendizaje del participante impactó su nivel de estrés.
