Description
The 1940 meeting of the Kings Mountain Baptist Association took place at Carpenter's Grove Baptist Church in Lawndale, NC. The introductory sermon was delivered by W. A. Elam. Dr. M.A. Adams, a representive from "Dry Forces" distributed cards to the Association to petition the state legislature for a statewide referendum on the topic. The Relief and Annuity Board reported that a new statewide plan called the North Carolina Ministers' Retirement Plan has been established. Polkville and Love Valley churches joined the Association. The General Board reported that N.L. Whistnant was elected to the office of Sunday School Superintendent.
