Description
Eight local students will pursue a college education with the help of the Joseph B. Freeman Jr. Educational Fund. Gardner-Webb University announced the recipients of 2014 Freeman scholarships during a presentation May 28 at the Cleveland County Chamber in uptown Shelby, N.C. Established in 1991 by local business leaders, the Freeman Fund was named for the late Joseph B. Freeman, who was head of the Interstate Johnson Lane office in Shelby.
