A Gardner-Webb University student pursuing her Master of Divinity in Christian Education is the recipient of the first Vernie W. Lewis Scholarship from the Charles B. Keesee Educational Fund Inc. Avery L. Woods, also a 2020 alumna of GWU with a bachelor’s degree in discipleship studies, is the youth coordinator at Hope Community Church (HCC) in Shelby, N.C.
