In the Gospel of Mark 12:29-31, Jesus gives the two most important commandments: “Love the Lord Your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength; and love your neighbor as yourself.” These verses form the foundation for Gardner-Webb University’s most prestigious award, the Tucker Heart, Soul, Mind and Strength Scholarship. This year’s winner, Kylee Morris of Newport, N.C., embodies all of these qualities in her interactions on the basketball court, at school and in the community.
