Description

The 1966 meeting of the Kings Mountain Baptist association met at Double Springs Baptist Church in Shelby, NC. The American Bible Society celebrated its 150th anniversary. In the Biblical Recorder report, it was mentioned that a new movement called the Death of God Movement had been started. Gardner-Webb College reported the opening of the Dover Campus Center. It was proposed in the General Board report that a radio program sponsored by the association be started. The Superintendent of Missions briefly mentioned points of contention within the country including racial inequality, the idea of "new morality," the Vietnam War, and the growing affluent societies.
