Description
The 1967 meeting of the Kings Mountain Baptist Association met at the First Baptist Church of Shelby in Shelby, NC. Gardner-Webb College reported the dedication of three new residence halls: Mauney Hall, Nanney Hall, and Myers Hall. The Home Mission reported one hundred military chaplains serving military forces in Vietnam. In the Children's Homes report, it was mentioned that the first ever rehabilitation center for boys would be opened at Wallburg. The North Carolina Baptist Homes for the Aging reported the opening of their fifth facility in Yanceyville. In the report of the Biblical Recorder, it was stated that the Charlotte Observer gave partial credit to the Recorder in fighting a "liquor by the drink" bill.
