Description

This quality improvement project is to: Implement a best practice Postpartum Depression (PPD) education and training for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) nurses with the goal of improving their knowledge, self-confidence and enhance recognition of symptoms of PPD in mothers of infants admitted into the NICU. This will establish a standard of care that NICU nurses could consistently use to improve the ability to identify signs and symptoms of PPD to make referrals to the unit Social Workers within the project setting and therefore provide resources to those mothers identified.
