Description
The Web Magazine focuses on alumni news and campus events from Gardner-Webb College; now Gardner-Webb University. This issue reflects on the overall importance of teachers in relation to the college experience. The issue also focuses on the highlight of the GWU graduation as given by a Broyhill Honorary Doctorate. It is also important to recognize the different departments at GWU such as the office of Academic Affairs and their newly elected Assistant Vice President, Dr. Philip Williams. Along with Dr. Williams, the baseball team captured the regional championship, Dr. Paul Jolley was named SAC Hall of Fame, the School of Nursing goes on display , and the School of Divinity received several upgrades. These upgrades include, a full accreditation, a new campaign, and successful fundraisers. Lastly, Ms. Starr Gist Wright was featured in The Web's "Portrait of a Rising Star" for her love of writing. Wright said, "I am a write first. before anything else, I am a writer."
