Gardner-Webb University and American Legion officials are hosting Salute to Academic Achievement Day (https://americanlegionworldseries.com/events/2023-alwsevents/) on Aug. 11 at 7 p.m. during the 96th American Legion World Series (Aug. 10-15). While recognizing Cleveland County students who spend part of their summer in programs to increase their knowledge, GWU invites alumni and fans to celebrate Gardner-Webb night at Keeter Stadium in Shelby, N.C.
