Description
The 1946 meeting of the Kings Mountain Baptist Association took place at Union Baptist Church in Shelby, NC and Patterson Grove Baptist Church in Kings Mountain, NC. The introductory sermon was delivered by C. C. Crow. The Kings Mountain Baptist Association in conjunction with the Sandy Run Baptist Association voted for Gardner-Webb College to enter into a cooperative agreement for financial support from the Baptist State Convention as had sister schools Wake Forest, Meredith, Campbell, and Mars Hill. The Sunday School committee reported a successful Vacation Bible School event. The Public Morals Committee expressed concern about the local community's practice of playing baseball and viewing moving pictures on Sundays. The committee put forth a vote for the Association to go on record as opposing these actvities on Sundays. War casualties were noted in memorium.
