Transfer Students Settle into GWU During a Pandemic
Michael Harvey
While college is a frightening step for any student who is taking the plunge into independence and an ever-adjusting social life, luckily most have the ability to only go through it once. For some students, that isn’t the case. Students may take that plunge as a freshman at one school and then realize that it may have not been the best option for them via a variety of ways. Some students’ opt-in to the community college route and then transfer following their two years there, while other transfer from another school because of personal, financial or physical gain.

Nolan's "Tenet" Inverts Time for a Must-Watch Action Thriller
Thomas Manning
Whenever Christopher Nolan takes on a project as a director, it is understood that the final product will be a true spectacle, destined for the largest theatrical screen possible. From his smaller indie roots with “Following” (1998), “Memento” (2000), and “Insomnia” (2002), to his game-changing “Dark Knight” trilogy (2005-2012), to his mind-bending sci-fi dramas like “Inception” (2010) and “Interstellar” (2014), to his historical war epic with “Dunkirk” (2017), Nolan is certainly one of the most influential filmmakers of the last quarter-century. Perhaps more than anything, Nolan’s fixation with the manipulation of time and non-linear storytelling is his most notable trademark. With his latest feature as both director and screenwriter, “Tenet“, Nolan somehow manages to outdo every complicated bit of temporal modification that has ever been introduced into his filmography, for better or for worse.

Seniors Reflect on Fall 2020 Semester
GWU Today
As the final few weeks of this fall semester tick away, we at GWU-Today feel like a bit of reflection is needed on this rather unusual and groundbreaking semester. As we all know, COVID-19 has taken the world by storm and changed how we live our lives for the foreseeable future. We’ve had to change how we do everything from normal tasks, like going out to eat and putting gas in our cars, to hosting Thanksgiving dinner and going Christmas shopping. Nothing is the same as usual, and attending college is no different. Even before students stepped foot on Gardner-Webb’s campus for the Fall 2020 Semester, they had already been subject to several months’ worth of government mandated regulations and recommendations. Once arriving on campus, these regulations became even more amplified for on-campus living. These increased safety measures included limiting class sizes, maintaining a distance of six feet, wearing a mask when in a public place or residence and limiting mass social gatherings.
