The Gardner-Webb football team will return home on Saturday for a matchup with the Charlotte 49ers after a disappointing 37-14 loss at the Citadel last week. The Bulldogs held onto a 14-13 lead early in the second half before being outscored 24-0 the remainder of the contest.

After a close first half, the Gardner-Webb Runnin’ Bulldogs (3-3) found separation in the second half on their way to a 27-24 victory over the Charlotte 49ers (3-3). J.J. Hubbard’s 95-yard kickoff return gave the Runnin’ Bulldogs a 7-3 early lead, after they held the 49ers to a field goal on their first possession.

Gardner-Webb Chef Talks About His Grill

Crowds of students eat at Gardner-Webb’s cafeteria daily, and many opt for the food in Mac’s Grill where they receive their eggs, burgers, sloppy joes or hotdogs cooked to order with a complementary smile or a “how are ya?” from the chef in that area, Randy Jones. What students don’t know is that Jones, along with the other cafeteria staff, wake up at 4:30 a.m. to be on time for work right before six.

Stadium Drive has Temporary Shutdown
