Associational Minutes. Includes minute records of the association from 1851 – 2001, when the association changed names to The Greater Cleveland County Baptist Association. Minutes reflect the accomplishments and struggles faced by the Association in each year of their work. Topical issues appearing in the minute records include temperance beliefs among local churches and the community, relationships with other local Baptist associations, local and foreign missions, and missions related to local soldiers during the Civil War. Records are complete with the exception of the 1855, 1865, and 1998 minute records. A partial book exists for the 1855 minutes. The 1865 and 1998 minutes are missing entirely. The 1865 minute book is available through Wake Forest University’s archival collection.

The 1903 meeting of the Kings Mountain Baptist Association took place at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Shelby, NC. The introductory sermon was delivered by R.F. Tredway. The Association proposes to erect a monument in memory of C. Durham. The Committee on State Missions reported that the growth of industrialized towns and railroads has led to an increased need for gospel mission support. In an effort to gain more subscribers, the Association recommends a fixed monthly date for the new association newsletter, The Baptist.

The 1904 meeting of the Kings Mountain Baptist Association took place at Zoar Baptist Church in Cleveland County, NC. The introductory sermon was delivered by D.F. Putnam. The Committee on Baptist Orphanage reported a typhoid fever outbreak effecting thirty children at the Orphanage. The Association reported that there is a pending bill in Congress called the Hepburn-Dolliver Bill that will prevent the shipment of liquor to Prohibition states from non-Prohibition states. The Association resolved to not use public school funding to establish a new denominational high school.

The 1905 meeting of the Kings Mountain Baptist Association took place at Kings Mountain Baptist Church in Cleveland County, NC. The introductory sermon was delivered by J.S. Farmer. Rev. T. Dixon was selected to attend the 1906 Southern Convention. Boiling Springs was selected as the best location for the new denominational high school, and the Association agreed to provide funding to help with the construction of the school building.

The Committee on Temperance recommends enacting a statewide Prohibition law. The Association established the Missionary Institutes, which teach women and children how to lead missionary meetings.

The Boiling Springs High School Board of Trustees reported that the construction of the school building has been completed.

The Second Baptist Church of Shelby and the Church at Flint Hill joined the Association. The Association held a joint session with the Sandy Run Baptist Association. Boiling Springs High School has four literary societies: Kalagathean, Althenian, Minnie Ramsaur, and Kalliergeonian. A library has also been started at the school. The Committee on Obituaries reported the passing of Rev. T. Dixon of New Prospect Church.

Brown, elected co-principals of Boiling Springs High School, submitted their resignations. Women's Work established a new feature called Conference on Methods.

Norman's Grove Church joined the Association. An Art Department was added to Boiling Springs High School. The first separate meeting of the Women's Missionary Union was held in Kings Mountain, NC.

The Committee on Education reports record enrollment for Meredith College. the Committee on Baptist Orphanage reports that two dormitories are nearing completion at the Kennedy Memorial Home in Lenoir County. The Association resolved to raise money towards a roof for the house of worship under construction at Wake Forest College.

The Boiling Springs High School Annual Report recommends that a new building with the suggested name, Dobbins-Dixon Memorial Building, should be built to house an auditorium, recital rooms, and a library.

The Baptist Churches of Gaston County decided to form the Gaston County Association. Cherryville, Shady Grove, Bessemer City, and Mt. Zion Churches were granted permission to join the Gaston County Association.

The Special Committee on Evangelistic Work recommends that the Association's churches form groups that will hold meetings and create Mobile Schools to help plan evangelism activities. The Women's Missionary Union endorsed the movement to build a hospital in Cleveland County.

The 1921 meeting of the Kings Mountain Baptist Association took place at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Kings Mountain, NC. The introductory sermon was delivered by W. G. Camp. The Home Mission report indicated that the church in Cuba has made progress towards self-support. Soldiers and Seamen still has a great need for missionary effort. Foreign Missions reported that Baptists met at the Longdon Conference of July 1920 to discuss spreading the Gospel in Europe. The Boiling Springs High School Board of Trustees reported that electric lights have been installed in the school buildings. The Gaston County Association is still considering the invitation to take part ownership of Boiling Springs High School.

The Report on Orphanage mentioned the establishment of Mother's Aid, which provides aid for widows and their children. The Baptist Young People's Union (B.Y.P.U.) underwent growth and organizational change.

The Boiling Springs High School Annual Report mentioned decreased enrollment in the lower grades, and preparations for a transition to a junior college.
