This issue pays special tribute to Carolina Freight Carriers who gave GW a Honeywell 200 computer. It also thanks Edwin Yates Webb, Jr. for his gift of a copy of the speech "Webb's Universe" to GW. Jerry McGee is announced as the new director of alumni activities and Charles E. Mack, Jr. is announced to have stepped down.

The Web Magazine focuses on alumni news and campus events from Gardner-Webb College; now Gardner-Webb University. This issue is the first of the new, more lengthy ones. It features updates on several alumni groups, campus construction plans, financial gifts/grants,and basketball. It also announces that the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary will accept credit hours from Gardner-Webb. A new feature, "The Bulldog Shop" was added. Alumni can purchase Gardner-Webb clothes, posters, or other memorabilia through a mail-in order form provided in the magazine. This issue also encourages alumni to join a new group, the "Alumni Coffee Club".

This issue introduces the new "Annual College Fund" and a new form of financial aid for students pursuing religious education/careers. It also writes that the GWC Choir will perform in France, recalls the alumni telethon and career day at GW. This issue also speaks much of Dr. Williams, the new President of GW. He politely refused an inauguration ceremony and insisted the money for the ceremony be spend on the school itself. R. Patrick Spangler is announced as chairman of the Board of Trustees for the seventh time, trips to London and Hawaii are announced, and updates on sports and homecoming/Founders Day activities are provided.

Jerry McGee was named Associate Director of Development. Pat Spangler, a heavy influence at Gardner-Webb, was spotlighted. The Basketball Team tied for Number 2 in the nation. There was also a new human performance lab set up by the health and physical education department.

This issue spotlights four alumni that received awards for service to their respective communities. It also briefly features that Rev. Buddy Freeman resigned from the college entirely. A gift of 65,000 dollars, given anonymously, allowed Gardner Webb to establish a permanent program in asserting practical leadership. Broyhill Industries donated 100,000 dollars for a new program entitled BASIC, focusing on the importance of a free economic system with a private sector.

Gardner- Webb also began a program in Human Services. Debbie B. Putnam was named the new editor of the magazine. The first Criminal Justice major, Thomas A. Johnson, graduated.Thomas Moore was named the new head coach of the football team. This issue heavily focuses on the fundraising efforts of the school, offering many different means of support.

The Web Magazine focuses on alumni news and campus events from Gardner-Webb College; now Gardner-Webb University. This issue highlights the groundbreaking ceremonies for the new convocation center at Gardner-Webb. The beginning semester of Graduate Studies was anticipated to begin in 1980. There were also major fundraising attempts during this time period, with a 50,000 dollar donation given anonymously. Patrick Spangler became the Convocation Center General Chairman, and took on the responsibilities of governing all other chairmen on this project. There was an outlook for the Gardner-Webb basketball season given by Randy Alexander, the Sports Information Director. Michael Stephens, a psychology major, met with prominent psychologist from around the nation on his four week tour of the United States. The school also began to offer art therapy. There was also a spotlight of the educators within the Education Department.
